Baseline ImPACT Testing is performed every 2 years for athletes. At the beginning of each athletic season, coaches will be notified by the athletic trainer of testing dates, and which athletes will need to take the baseline test.
What is the ImPACT test? ImPACT (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing) is a neurocognitive assessment administered online in a controlled environment. ImPACT has two components: baseline testing and post-injury testing which are used in conjunction to determine if a patient can safely return to an activity.
Where do I take a Post-Injury ImPACT test if I am suspected of having a concussion? Post-injury testing is usually conducted once an athlete is symptom free (asymptomatic) or as early as 24-72 hours post-injury, depending on the provider managing the athlete’s condition. This can be done at any of the Centegra Immediate Care Locations.
