Varsity and JV Head Coach
Lauren is excited to revamp the Dance Team at WHS! 2018-2019 is our year! Dance has been her passion ever since she started taking classes in middle school, competing at high school, and minoring in it while in college. She teaches Physical Education at Verda Dierzen and has been teaching in the district for the past four years. She has also been teaching dance at a studio for the past 9 years and teaches students who are on the Wauconda High School, Grant High School, and Mundelein High School Dance Teams, as well as students who are in the Orchesis Program at Barrington High School. She coaches, choreographs routines, and teaches students who are on the competition teams at the studio she teaches dance at, The Academy of Ballet in Wauconda. She is excited to bring her knowledge from the studio she teaches at, her opportunities she had from being on the Dance Team, Hip Hop Team, and Minoring in Dance while she attended Luther College to Woodstock High School. Her hope is to help her team grow throughout the season by reaching new heights and to help each dancer on the team achieve their personal, and team goals.
Taylor is currently a special education kindergarten teacher in the woodstock district at Verda Dierzen Early Learning Center. Taylor is entering her first year as Woodstock High School Dance Team’s assistant coach. She is beyond excited for this upcoming 2018-2019 season! Dance has always been an important part of her life. Taylor has 10 years of a dance background in a variety of styles; jazz, modern, hip hop, ballet, and lyrical. She participated in her dance studio’s competition team. She was on a state awarded high school dance team and president of her school’s orchesis program during her high school education. Taylor is now looking forward to being on the coaching side of a dance team. She cannot wait to help lead a spirited team of dancers. She feels so honored to be able to coach the WHS Dance Team and see what the next season has in store for these students.
